Gluten Free Golden Gravy

 

Gluten Free Golden Gravy

Ingredients:

1 small onion, diced
1 medium potato, diced
1 medium carrot, diced
1½ c water
1 stick celery, diced
1 T olive oil
2 T raw cashews, ground
½ t salt
2 t Massel beef style powder

 

Method

  1. Fry onion in the oil.

  2. Add all other ingredients, except the cashews, and cook till vegetables are soft.*

  3. Whiz cashews in blender.

  4. Add all other ingredients to blender.

  5. Whiz again till smooth. (Or use a stick blender for this step.)   If too thick, add a little hot water.

  6. Check for seasoning.

This gravy is delicious served with steamed broccoli, cauliflower or other vegetables, and with patties.

* Alternatively, omit Step 1 and cook onion and oil with other ingredients in Step 2.
