Paul's Golden Pea Soup

 

Paul's Golden Pea Soup

 

  • Preparation time:
  • Cooking time:
  • Serves: 10-12

 

 

Ingredients:

500g yellow split peas, soaked overnight
1 c celery, chopped
3 c onion, chopped
2 c carrots, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
½ t mint
½ t basil
½ t turmeric
1 t salt
1 T cold pressed olive oil
3 t Massel chicken style powder
¼ c parsley, chopped
2 t tomato paste
3 litres water

 

Method:

  1. Rinse split peas.

  2. Bring all ingredients to the boil.

  3. Reduce heat to half.

  4. Cook till peas are very soft.

  5. Let the soup cool, then blend.
