Ingredients:
1½ c
dates, halved, remove any stones
¾ c dried apricots, cut into halves or quarters
½ c crystallised cherries
½ t cinnamon powder
½ t nutmeg powder
1 c water
Method:

Put the
above ingredients into a saucepan.

Bring to boil.

Cook
for 5 minutes with lid on, counting from boiling.

Remove from heat and let stand for at least 30 minutes.

The mixture should have just a little liquid left.
Add:
¾ c water
¾ c walnut pieces
1½ c wholemeal self raising flour
Method:

Add the water and flour little by little to form a soft
sticky mixture.

Bake in greased loaf pan at 180ºC for 20 mins, then at
150ºC for about 30 mins, until a skewer inserted comes
out clean.

Cool and slice.
