Club Recipes - Savouries

2 x 420g cans of chickpeas, drained OR 3 c cooked chickpeas
(from about 1½ c raw chickpeas)
½ t turmeric
¼ c tapioca (arrowroot)
4 cloves garlic
2 t parsley, chopped
1/3 c onion, diced
Dash of cayenne pepper
cummin
1 t Massel vegetable style stock powder
1 pkt plain corn chips (less ½ c)
Olive oil
Method:
- Blend corn chips.
- Add chickpeas to blender and blend
till mushy.
- Add a little water if too dry.
- Add the other ingredients and
blend a bit more.
- Make falafels with teaspoonsful of
the mixture. They can be made into round balls or flattened
into patties.
- Fry in olive oil.
- They can also be baked for 20 mins
at 200ºC, but the falafels can be a little dry this way.
- Serve with Onion Sauce.
